North Outer Ring:
Security Rating: AAA
The boarders of this region are I94, the Anoka county boarder, and the
St. Croix River. The inner barrier is the newer I894 bypass, which cuts
through Ham Lake. This area is comprised almost entirely residential
areas with large groves of trees between properties. Only the richest
people can afford to live here in the posh luxury mansions.
East Outer Ring:
Security Rating: AA
The boarders of this region are highway 8, highway 65, and I894 which is
located just inside the Minnesota Border from Wisconsin. The East Outer
Rings find a larger consumer base with large malls and outlet stores as
well as a huge residential population. This area is perfect for the up
and coming Ares executive with well priced but sensible homes.
South Outer Ring:
Security Rating:AA
The borders of this region are the St. Croix River, highway 19, and 169.
The inner border is the new I294 bypass located at about the midpoint of
Dakota county. This area is also very nice, although the population is
much more middle class family housing. A typical wage slave with a large
family, and perhaps some good investments tends to find his/her way into
this zone.
West Outer Ring:
Security Rating: A
This zone is bordered by highway 169, highway 25, and I94. The inner
border is located along I294, just along the Hennepin county border.
This area is not nearly as high class as the other outer rings, but in
recent years, rich executives have chosen to move to this area, increasing
its popularity daily. The western zone is marked by some very nice
resort areas along the many lakes.
North Inner Ring:
Security Rating: B
The north inner ring is located between I894 and I694 and is marked by a
wage slave population. The houses here are adequate, and the shopping is
popular, but this neighborhood is the definition of no-frills. A good
neighborhood if anything, but boring nonetheless.
East Inner Ring:
Security Rating: C
Located between the St. Croix River side of I894, and the I494/I694
changeover, this area has seen better days. At one time a nice place to
live, with good schools and a friendly atmosphere, it now houses some
violent road gangs that charge 'tolls' to citizens. Although it has its
problems, many people chose to live in this neighborhood because the cost
of living is so low.
South Inner Ring:
Security Rating: D (dropping to Z at times)
This ring is located between the new I294 and I494. Currently debate is
going on to determine if The Charon Device should be installed around
this area as well. The former Minnesota Zoo is also located here, but as
the animals escaped from their cages many years ago, not too many people
chose to venture into this area as the Como Zoo in the Downtown St. Paul
Zone is adequate. Gangs roam the street, and most people have two to
three deadbolts on their locks.
West Inner Ring:
Security Rating: B
Located between I494 and I294 this zone has not suffered nearly as much
as the east or south zones. Although most are very happy about this,
there seems to be no obvious explanation to its lack of decline. There
are rumors that the government is keeping it that way, but there are also
rumors that the crime line is approaching closer every day.
North Central Cities:
Security Rating: A
The north central cities are located between 35W, I94, and Larpentur
Avenue. The new location of the University of Minnesota, this area is
mostly comprised of college housing and entertainment. A popular night
spot, it also contains both Rosedale and Maplewood mall, both redesigned
for the most discerning shopping needs.
East Central Cities:
Security Rating: AA
The east central cities are located between I694/I494, Johnson Parkway,
and the Mississippi River. This area is a booming small corporate center
choked with large office buildings. This is where everybody that does
not work for the largest companies commutes to every day.
South Central Cities:
Security Rating: AAA (around the airport), A elsewhere
This zone is surrounded by the interstate on the south, west and east
sides, and Minnehaha Parkway on the north. Twin Cities International,
TCI, (formerly the Minneapolis International Airport) is the center point
of this zone. This airport is the largest airport on the western border
of the UCAS, therefore large amounts military and commercial traffic land
here. Northwest Orient Airlines survived the 30's and the hub is still
located here. Lone Star guards the airport as feircely as the Secret
Service guards the president, but leave the rest of the zone to smaller
companies. The South Central Cities are marked by many hotels and is a
popular place to vacation. There are many other places of interest in
this zone, which can be seen later under "Places of Interest."
West Central Cities:
Security Rating: AA
The west central cities are bordered by I494 and I94 on the outside and
on the inside by highway 100. This zone is also popular to small
corporations, although less so than the East Central Cities. This zone
does have the largest growth rate of any of the commercial zones though.
Downtown St. Paul:
Security Rating: A (during day)/D (at night)
Downtown St. Paul is where all the megacorps find their home. Shaiwase
and Ares have large buildings here, and many of their subsidiaries have
also found a home in this area. On a less business degree, The Como Zoo
is a very popular family spot with many paranormal and normal animals to
entertain the children.
Minneapolis Barrens Free Zone:
Security Rating: Z (and that's being nice)
The Minneapolis Barrens Free Zone will be covered later under "Places of
Interest."
