Minneapolis/St. Paul
Tyr's Right Hand
Gang Focus:
Very loosely defined as a "gang," this group intensely defends the
freedom of the Free Zone "citizens." Tyr's Right Hand has been named
after the Norse God of Justice who lost his hand. They do not in any way
infringe on the people of the turf, and are possibly the most loved of
any of the gangs. Although it may seem as if these people are not a gang
at all, their brand of vigilante justice has caused some serious
problems. Any violation of their set of laws, by any people can result
in immediate and deadly force. Tyr's right hand do not like
shadowrunners, as they believe that it was this group of people that
caused the Minneapolis Barrens to be formed in the first place.
Leader:
Odin, a large human male with a slightly unbalanced nature. He honestly
believes that he is a Norse God, and often becomes enraged at those that
do not pay him tribute. Odin believes that all have the right to live
without the barriers of the Frontier, and is always attempting to find a
way to defeat the system.
Lieutenants: 3
- Hans, another large human male that despite his seeming large size,
is very intelligent.
- Gunther, an troll male that claims to be the bulk of the muscle in
Tyr's Right Hand.
- Valkyre, a very attractive human female that is Odin's main squeeze.
Although she has this claim to fame, she also has a large following in
the gang, and many wonder if this is not a plot to take over the
gang.
Gang Rating: Superior
Head Count: Approximately 40-50
Initiation Rites:
Any initiate must stop a large scale crime while it is happening and hand
out his/her own form of justice. This is then brought before the council
of elders (Odin, Hans, and Gunther) and is voted on. If the punishment
is considered adequate the initiate is allowed in. If the punishment is
too harsh or not harsh enough, the counsel will punish the initiate with
what they consider adequate.
Uniforms:
The colors of this gang are gold and Silver, as they wear these colors
proudly. Members of Tyr's Right Hand enjoy wearing period garb, complete
with fake fur and horned helmets. Shields are also popular with this
gang, as are period weapons.
Symbols:
The symbol of Tyr's Right Hand is a fist holding an eye. This symbol is
often engraved on a large medallion, or on a shield.
Territory:
Tyr's Right Hand claims the northwestern corner of the Free Zone. The
boundary lines include 394, the western frontier and Lowry Avenue
NE.
Operations:
Tyr's Right Hand claims most of their money from secret public
sponsorship. Many wealthy individuals give money to this gang to fund
their brand of justice. They also claim a large bankroll, and are funded
by the interest on many investments.
Foes:
Tyr's right hand claim all the other gangs as foes. Although they pick
on nobody specifically, they are constantly trying to shut down all
gangs.
Uniqueness:
Tyr's Right Hand is one of a very small fraction of vigilante gangs.
They are slowly gaining hold of gang turf because many citizens like the
feeling of protection offered. Although this may be true in the short
run, studies have shown that once these gangs claim a large hold on a
city, they become very violent, and violate many civil liberties.
