Minneapolis/St. Paul
The Seven
Gang Focus:
This gang started as a group of young Catholic school students that were
removed forcibly from their school after a random fire-bombing. Shortly
after this incident, the city of Minneapolis was isolated from the
outside world, and these students were trapped inside. Though seriously
traumatized by this experience, they decided that the free zone was in
need of the word if God. As one of the first gangs, they quickly closed
upon a large piece of territory in downtown Minneapolis, which they defend
quite intensely. They also defend the word of God, and will kill any
that defile "good."
Leader:
Modesty, a human male, was the oldest in the boy's side of the school when
it was destroyed. Along with piercing blue eyes, he has thick black
hair, a black goatee, and mustache. He quickly took control of both
parts of the school in an attempt to bring God to the Godless people of
the Free Zone. Mostly machine through the augmentations obtained through
ÒdonorsÓ over the years, word on the street is that he sold his soul to
the Devil in order to save himself from the blaze. He supposedly is now
attempting to atone, although most would agree that it is too
late.
Lieutenants: 3
- Chastity, a female elf razorgirl of awe inspiring proportions and main
squeeze of Modesty (rumor has it that they are not chaste). She still
wears her Catholic school jumper most of the time. Chastity favors the
use of her full size retractable spur when educating the masses.
- Reverence, a human male mage was beginning to show his talent when the
school was destroyed. Although he knows plenty of combat spells,
frequently he secretly heals those that the gang has hurt.
- Charity, a brutish orcish male rigger deals with the gang's small car
pool.
Gang Rating: Superior
Head Count: Approximately 25-40 members
Initiation Rites:
Aside from being Catholic, all members of The Seven
must follow "The Path of Jesus Christ," an intense three day ordeal. On
Friday, members are given a great feast in their honor before they are
crucified in front of the gang's headquarters where they are left
overnight. Following that they are buried in a tomb until Sunday
Morning, when they are removed and taken into the church. Those that
survive become members, those that do not are thrown into "Lucifer's Pit"
(a local furnace).
Uniforms:
The Seven wear red and black, or black and white, depending on their
position in the gang. Specifically, young recruits are required to wear
Catholic school uniforms, and the older members of the gang wer priestly
(or higher order) garb.
Symbol:
This gang's primary symbol is a crucifix, set into a backdrop of a flaming
building. This is typically carried on a rosary, although it is becoming
common for all members to tattoo themselves as well.
Territory:
The Seven claim most of the Southwestern
corner of downtown Minneapolis, with borders approximately coinciding with
94, the Sculpture Garden, 394, 5th Ave. S. and 65. Their HQ is rumored
to be located in one of the many abandoned churches.
Operations:
The Seven obtain most of their nuyen through "donations" from the
"parish," mainly through outsiders.
Foes:
Although they are surrounded on all sides by rival gangs, the only
one that they truly consider a threat are The Crypt Keepers. As they all
undead a true abomination of God the Seven attack them ruthlessly. Aside
from that Gang, The Seven violently defend their faith, and using
detection spells, will often determine the religion of a potential
victim, to see if they need an "exorcism."
Uniqueness:
As far as anyone knows, this is the only gang founded on a true religion.
Although their methods may seem extreme, they are also often seen feeding
poor and rescuing the destitute. To some members of the sprawl, these
people are their saviors in a horrible life.
