Minneapolis/St. Paul
The Crypt Keepers
Gang Focus:
The Crypt Keepers are a group of undead creatures, either vampires,
ghouls, or other once (meta)human creatures, now embraced in a wholly
undead life. This group was founded soon after the isolation of
Minneapolis and as a result they took over a large part of the northern
barrens. Currently it is merely a loose association of undead that use
the northern part of Minneapolis as their feeding ground. Aside from
this, all other undead entering the Free Zone are required to notify this
gang before any hunting may occur.
Leader:
Argus, a once human vampire with a small degree of magical talent. He
became leader of this gang by draining the essence of the Wendigo that had
controlled the group previously. The physical prowess required for this
task gained him the admiration of the others, sealing his
position.
Lieutenants: 2
- Rigor Mortis, a male human ghoul which has proved to have greater
intelligence than most of his kind. He especially loves the taste of
young elvish female flesh.
- Nosferatu, a human male vampire that has been deformed through
some serious scarring. His full background is unknown.
Gang Rating: Equal
Head Count: Approximately 20-25
Initiation Rites:
The initiation rites for this gang are simple. They are released into the
city and told to survive for one night. Argus follows the initiate,
captures him/her, and feeds on him/her until Argus can feed no more. If
the initiate survives, he becomes part of the gang.
Uniforms:
The unofficial colors of this gang are silver and black. Most members
wear black clothes, and tie silver bandanas around their arms and
legs.
Symbols:
The Crypt Keepers symbol is that of a skeletal hand reaching out from a
coffin. Because of the often rotting nature of the gang members, tattoos
are uncommon, but other ornamentation is expected. Every member is given a
pin and is expected to wear it in honor of Argus.
Territory:
The Crypt Keepers claim the entire northern part of Minneapolis, from
Lowry Avenue to the frontier. They have no absolute HQ, but Argus lives
somewhere in the upper levels of the sewer system.
Operations:
The Crypt Keepers make most of their money by selling illegal drugs and
BTLs to the population. Although some petty theft is not uncommon, Argus
discourages such activities. Another popular scheme is protection money,
but this has been losing popularity lately.
Foes:
The Crypt Keepers consider The Seven little more than an annoyance, even
though The Seven make it a point to kill of members of their gang. More
importantly, The Crypt Keepers keep a constant eye out for the growing
population of undead hunters, as they are the true enemy.
Uniqueness:
Although clans of undead are not uncommon, this is the
largest conglomeration in the world. There are suspected ties to almost
every crime syndicate, but more importantly, it is rumored that Argus has
ties to the Dark Coven of Set, a horrific vampire cult that doubles as an
organized crime syndicate.
